Electrocardiographic Changes in Diphtheria



Abstract
The cardiac complication, diphtheric myocarditis. in diphtheria is very common and serious. The diagnosis of diphtheric myocarditis is difficult to be done without the help of electrocardiogram. The diagnosis i of "diphtheric myocarditis" can be established only with the electrocardiographic changes.
1. The electrocardiographic study . of 14 cases of diphtheria is reported.
2. Significant electrocardiographic abnormalities were found in 3 cases, two deaths out of these 3 E patients.
3. Electrocardiographic changes in diphtheria were recovered completely without any reserve.
4. The electrocardiographic study is essential to evaluate the ph- E VF
ysical conditions of the patients
suffering from diphtheria both in +A1 0-1 }" )P-*
the acute.,and convalescent periods.
